අසෝක විද්යාලයේ වයස අවුරුදු 17 න් පහළ චෙස් කණ්ඩායම සමස්ත ලංකා පාසල් චෙස් කණ්ඩායම් තරගාවලියේදී සමස්ත ලංකා දෙවැනි ස්ථානය හිමිකර ගනිමින්, අප පාසලේ මෙතෙක් චෙස් ක්රීඩාවෙන් විද්යාලය ලැබූ විශිෂ්ටතම ජයග්රහණය ලබාගෙන ඇති බැවින්, එම සාමාජිකයන් හත් දෙනා සහ පුහුණුකරු ඇගයීම සඳහා අසෝක විද්යාලයේ ආදි ශිෂ්ය සංගමය මගින් මූල්යමය අනුග්රහකත්වය ලබා දුන් අවස්ථාව.
